After two years, she became a Methodist missionary to Japan, where she taught English. She discusses her experiences in Japan, being an American in Japan, and women's role in society. Dr. Brooks discusses EKU at length EKU, including presidents she served under, the need for faculty to do research, changes in students over time, and what influenced her decision to retire.
