In this interview J.T. Ballew discusses his life and background growing up in Richmond, KY. He discusses the black community, race relations, and interactions between blacks and whites in Richmond. Mr. Ballew recalls attending a segregated school before integration and how blacks felt about integration. He compares the living conditions of blacks today to those of the past. He discusses black businesses in Richmond, politics, and religion.
