In this interview, Lloyd discusses working at Morehead with the possibility of being fired by a board member for supporting the opposition candidate for circuit judge. With Happy Chandler as governor, Lloyd was offered the position of Director of Public Assistance. In the 1939 Gubernatorial Primary, Lloyd stated there was a possibility he could have supported John Y. Brown Sr. Lloyd also comments on factionalism within the Kentucky Democratic Party.
