  • DescriptionVanous Lloyd was born in 1947 in Bowling Green Kentucky. Loyd attended Western Kentucky University on a baseball scholarship, which jumpstarted his career in Physical Education. In the following interview Lloyd discusses his choices to become a Physical Education instructor, and his role as the first women's basketball coach at Warren Central High School. Llyod compares and contrast his role in women's sports with his knowledge and experiences from men's programs through out the interview. Lloyd also comments on African Americans in sports, the differences between past and contemporary player attitudes, women's scholarships, and athlete academic standards and performance.
