In this interview, he describes times where he was thrown into positions that he did not expect, and how he learned to basically “go with the flow”. He spent approximately two years of active duty in Germany, acting through a variety of positions including clerical work, where his ability to type efficiently was considered a strong and much-needed skill. McIntosh also details his experiences with tank operations and how the military has developed over time since he was a young soldier. He openly discusses the popular motivations for why certain soldiers joined the military, and how their decision defined them during their careers.
