<text>The History of Buckeye School Project deals with the education and social history of the Buckeye Community, a small unincorporated community that sprang up during the early 20th Century in Garrard County near Lancaster, Kentucky. Buckeye High School eventually closed down in the mid-1950s. The community and school never fully recovered from the Great Depression and was eventually dissolved due to changing political circumstances. The interviews in the collection comment extensively on community member and teacher experiences at Buckeye High School, as well as the lives of those who either returned to Buckeye after college or came from the community.</text>
