Malcolm Kilduff Project

Description

Malcolm Kilduff, deputy press secretary for Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson, was with Kennedy when he was assassinated. Because press secretary Pierre Salinger was out of the country, Kilduff had the responsibility of making announcements to the press and was with Johnson and the Kennedys at the hospital. He discusses the assassination and White House media operations and gives candid impressions of important people in the administrations of these two presidents.
