Description
Mountain Life is a collection of interviews that focuses on growing up and living in the mountains of Kentucky. Interviewees discuss their childhoods in different areas. They remember chores they had to do, traditional mountain recipes, and, some share the intricacies of killing a hog. Also discussed are school days for the interviewees: where they went to school, their daily travels, and how school inspired them. Interviewees also share their experiences during World War II and how it impacted mountain living. With the emergence of new technology, such as radio and television, mountain life changed further. As the world around them changed, interviewees share how they grew up, and how growing up in the mountains impacted the rest of their lives.
